T&K's 2010 New Associates
Texas - The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce the addition of 16 new associates in its Austin, Dallas, and Houston offices.
Austin Office
Cleve Burke joined the Firm's Trial Practice Group. He received a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2008 and a B.A. in History and Spanish, magna cum laude, from Duke University in 2001. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he completed a Judicial Clerkship with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2009.
Dallas Office
Alexander H. Bailey joined the Firm's Trial Practice Group. He received a J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School in 2009 and a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University in 2005.
Leslie R. Chaggaris joined the Firm's Trial Practice Group. She received a J.D., summa cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2009 and a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of North Texas in 2005. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she completed a Judicial Internship for Justice Phil Johnson in the Texas Supreme Court in 2007 and served as an Intern for the District Attorney's Office in Denton County, Texas in 2004.
Andrew C. Cookingham joined the Firm's Trial Practice Group. He received a J.D., magna cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2008 and a B.S. in Chemical Physics from the University of Virginia in 2005. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Nathan L. Hecht in the Texas Supreme Court in 2008-2009. He completed Judicial Internships for the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 2007 and the Honorable Frederico Hinojosa in the Texas Thirteenth Court of Appeals in 2006.
Carla C. Crapster joined the Firm's Tax Practice Group. She received a J.D., with high honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2008 and a B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 2005. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable A. Joe Fish in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 2008-2009.
Melissa Deal joined the Firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Group. She received a J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2009 and a B.S. in Chemistry, with a concentration in Biochemistry, from Duke University in 2005.
Ashleigh Everett joined the Firm's Oil and Gas Practice Group. She received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2009 and a B.S. in Agriculture, summa cum laude, from Oklahoma State University in 2006.
Scott A. Kitner joined the Firm's Trial Practice Group. He received a J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2008 and a B.A. in Political Science, with high honors, from Emory University in 2005. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable David M. Medina in the Texas Supreme Court in 2008-2009 and completed a Judicial Internship for the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 2006.
Luke K. McPherson joined the Firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Group. He received a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 2009; a B.S. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University in 2005; and an A.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University in 2003. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in 2007.

Rachel Sam joined the Firm's Real Estate and Banking Practice Group. She received a J.D., cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law in 2009 and a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 2006.
Randy Sawyer joined the Firm's Real Estate and Banking Practice Group. He received a J.D., with high honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2009 and a B.B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, from Texas State University in 2006. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he completed a Judicial Internship for the Honorable Francis Stacy in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2007.

Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he completed a Judicial Internship for the Honorable Elizabeth Lang-Miers in the Texas Fifth Court of Appeals in 2007. He previously served as Vice President and Marketing Director for Kettle Restaurants, Inc. and Food Service Holdings, Ltd.
